The Mission to Vanuatu 19/23 June has concluded. We can now report on the results as discussed with the three Wellington based participants.
Overall the impression is that this was an outstanding mission. All enjoyed the ocassion and say they could not have expected better treatment by the Vanuatu hosts.
The official welcome was presided over by Hon Matai Seremaiah, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Trade. He also accompanied the mission to Santo on 22 June.
All arrangements were skillfully handled by His Excellency Jimmy Nipo, the Vanuatu High Commissioner in Wellington, who also accompanied the mission. Internal travel arrangements were taken care of by the Ministry of Trade.
This was essentially a NZ business mission. Visits were aimed at Government Ministries and Vanuatu businesses. According to Mission members they exceeded all expectations in this regard.
They all concur that Vanuatu is a wonderful place to visit and do future business.
We plan a repeat visit there in April/May 2024.
